I think the latest version of Free CFD should be compatible with gmsh CGNS converter as well. But I don't think anybody tried it yet or at least nobody reported any problems. Please let me know if you have trouble with reading gmsh converted meshes so that I can issue a fix.

I first wrote a program to convert it to gmsh format. I visualize this in gmsh; it looks ok to me. Then I used gmsh to convert it to cgns. But when I run fcfd, I get error

Code: Select all
[I] Found grid file onera.cgns
[I] Number of Bases= 1
[I] Number of Zones= 1
[I] In Zone Zone_0001
[I] ...Number of Nodes= 72791
[I] ...Number of Cells= 341797
[I] ...Number of Sections= 1
[I] ...Number of Boundary Conditions= 7
Illegal instruction

Maybe gmsh has a problem, because it says

Code: Select all
Warning : CGNS I/O is at an "alpha" software stage

But do you have any suggestions for this problem ?

Thanks

I have written a converter for gmsh to cgns. I tested this sometime back and it seemed to be ok. Send me your email so that I can mail it to you. My email is cpraveen at gmail dot com
