that's right!
now i can run fcfd with simple geometry created with gmsh!
the next step is do the same work with complex STL geometry.
i hope that all goes right...

thank you very much! your help has been crucial!

This is helpful. I haven't gotten gmsh and freecfd to work together, yet, but this will sure help.

baz1987 wrote:Hi,
i wish to use freecfd for studying and optimize the flow inside a 2stroke kart engine, that run in the world KF champioship.
i have a problem running fcfd, and i think it's in the .cgns file.
First of all i try to run a test, with a very simple geometry, to prove the structure of the input files, before moving on to more complex geometries.
I use GMSH to generate the .cgns mesh, but i don't know how to set the Boundary conditions.
Opening the .cgns file created with GMSH with Adfviewer, i see that under the ZoneBC directory i have 10 folders named Patch_0001 to Patch_0010, i think they represents the 10 faces of my geometry, but how can i set the boundary conditions on this faces? i just need to name in the input file the conditions like the name i see in the Adfviewer?
And what i have to do with the other faces?

Thank you very much!

If you are familiar with windows OS, ICEM can also create the .cgns and it is very simple to define the boundary conditions
